Tips for Reducing Costs on My PC Build?

Hey everyone! I'm new to PC building and, being a teenager, I have a tight budget that I'd like to keep under $1,500 if possible. I'm looking for advice on how to lower the costs of my build while still meeting my needs.

Here's my current list: [PCPartPicker List](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/BRpzwY)

I'd prefer to get all parts from my local Microcenter, but I'm okay with shopping at OEM websites or Amazon too. I have a bundle in mind for the CPU, RAM, and motherboard that costs $500: [Microcenter Bundle](https://www.microcenter.com/product/5006986/amd-ryzen-7-7800x3d,-asus-b650-e-tuf-gaming,-gskill-flare-x5-series-32gb-ddr5-6000-kit,-computer-build-bundle).

It's essential for me to have 32GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD. I mainly plan to use this build for gaming, particularly open-world RPGs like Genshin Impact, drawing with Clip Studio Paint, video editing with Davinci Resolve, and general schoolwork.

I'm looking for advice on where I can cut costs without sacrificing too much performance. Thanks in advance for your help!

Just a heads-up, the P3 Plus drive you picked out uses QLC flash, which isn't as durable and could slow down after a few years. I recommend going for a TLC drive instead, like the TeamGroup MP33 Pro or the WD Blue SN5000. It’ll last longer and perform better overall.

Thanks for the heads-up! I’ll definitely look into those options.

To get your build under $1500, I suggest switching to a six-core CPU and downgrading your GPU to a 5060. Here's a possible breakdown I found:

- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X for about $240
- Motherboard: Asus PRIME B650-PLUS for around $150
- Video Card: PNY OC GeForce RTX 5070 for $550
- With some adjustments, you can get your total price down to about $1,759.77. It’s tricky to reach below $1500 without compromising some features!

I appreciate the ideas! Thanks for putting together the price list. I'll consider the 50 series too, even with some mixed reviews.

You could save a lot of money by looking for bundles. I got a great deal on a CPU+RAM+MOBO+GPU combo that included the ASUS TUF B650-E board and saved around $400 CAD. If you can't find that, I recommend switching to the MSI Pro B650-S motherboard as a budget-friendly alternative. Also, the Lian Li Lancool 207 case is a fantastic option and usually about 40 bucks cheaper while offering great airflow. For the GPU, 12GB should be plenty for 1440p gaming, so you might not need to buy the most expensive one and could save there too! Definitely check out PSU recommendations to ensure you're getting something reliable too!

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll look for bundles and consider the MSI motherboard.
