Tips for Reducing Snapshot Costs on Azure Managed Disks

I'm looking to optimize my Azure costs, and I've noticed that snapshot costs for managed disks are really adding up on the bill. I'm curious—how do you guys manage this? Are you using any automation to delete old snapshots? Do you have any lifecycle policies in place? How do you track and tag them regularly? Or do you rely on third-party tools?

We set up a script that checks for snapshots and unattached disks every month, then we take action on what we find. It keeps things streamlined and helps us manage costs better. It's definitely a good start!

That's a solid approach, but running a monthly script can leave some blind spots. A lot can happen in 30 days, and you might end up accruing costs from unused snapshots that go unnoticed until the next cleanup. Have you guys considered implementing automated monitoring to minimize manual work and give you a clearer picture?

I've also created a script that specifically removes snapshots older than 30 days, unless they have a certain tag. It helps keep things in check, but I've been thinking about some of the limits of this approach.
