I'm trying to put together a gaming PC plan, and a friend helped me create one that I thought was pretty good. You can check it out here: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/D8NCjn. However, I'm hoping to bring the overall cost down to around $1000. Any suggestions on parts I could swap or changes I could make to achieve a lower price would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

You might want to consider swapping out your GPU for this one that's about $10-$15 cheaper, yet offers better performance: https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-Radeon-7800-Gaming-Graphics/dp/B0CTJ9H941. I think we could also look into options for the CPU to save you some cash. Let me know what you think!
I also have an old 5800X that I can sell you. I switched to a 5700X3D, so if you're interested, let me know!

Thanks for the suggestion!
