Trouble Booting My New PC Build – DRAM Light Stays On

Hey everyone! I recently got some new components for my PC build, and I'm running into a problem when trying to boot it up. The DRAM light on my Gigabyte Gaming X Wifi 7 motherboard keeps lighting up, which isn't a good sign! I've updated the BIOS using Q-Flash Plus and have tried different RAM slots with both a single stick and both sticks in dual channel mode.

Here's what I'm working with: Corsair Vengeance DDR5-6000mhz (CMK48GX5M2B6000Z30) RAM, paired with a Ryzen R9 9900X, a Corsair RMx850 power supply, and an RX 7900XT. I checked the compatibility of the RAM with the motherboard, and while I didn't find the exact module number, I found similar ones.

Some posts I read had mixed success with this issue—some folks had no problems while others did. Should I be considering a different RAM, or am I missing something crucial? Just to update, I've tried updating the BIOS again, and while the DRAM light stopped, the CPU light came on instead, so maybe the CPU is the real issue? Any help would be appreciated!

Just to add, when I initially booted up my PC, the red light flashed on the CPU for a split second before switching to the DRAM light. After updating the BIOS several times, I’ve experienced the same thing—so it definitely seems like the issue might stem from the CPU instead of the RAM.

You should try reseating the CPU first. It's important to ensure that the cooler is properly mounted with even pressure on all four corners to help make sure everything connects well. Sometimes that simple step can clear up boot issues like this!

Just tried doing this, but the same issue occurs.

How long did you let it ram train while the light was on? Sometimes it helps to give it a little more time—a minute or two can do the trick as it might be adjusting settings.

I don’t think I let it run for more than 30 seconds at a time.
