I recently got a refurbished MacBook Pro, but I'm having trouble getting it connected to my home WiFi. Every time I try, I get a 'network timeout' error. My other devices can connect without issue. I've powered down both the MacBook and the router, but that hasn't helped. Interestingly, the MacBook can connect to other networks, like a pay-as-you-go service, which I'm currently using to update the OS. But if this doesn't resolve the issue, I'd love to hear any other suggestions!

Try going to the Apple menu, then System Settings, and select Wi-Fi. Click on the (...) next to your network and choose 'Forget This Network,' then try reconnecting. It might help if it hasn’t connected before.
Have you checked who refurbished your MacBook? If it’s Apple, it should be under warranty, but if it was someone else, you might want to consider returning it if the issue persists.
