Trouble Installing Windows 10/11 on Crucial MX500 SSD

I'm having a really tough time trying to get Windows 10 or 11 installed on my Crucial MX500 SSD. I've attempted several methods, including using Diskpart with the clean command and clearing the read-only attribute, but I keep hitting an access denied error. I noticed a video that showed a fix using the WD Drive Unlocker, but obviously, that's only for WD SSDs. I've searched for any similar tool for Crucial SSDs but couldn't find one. I've checked the drive with CrystalDisk and the Crucial app, and I ran chkdsk; everything seems fine. Can anyone help me figure this out? Thanks a lot!

If you're getting access denied errors with Diskpart, it might indicate that your SSD is in read-only mode, which could suggest a problem with the drive itself. You might need to consider replacing it if nothing else works.

Hey there! Let's troubleshoot this:

1. **Physical Installation & BIOS/UEFI:** Make sure your SSD is correctly installed. Check your BIOS/UEFI settings to see if the SSD is recognized.
2. **Boot Order:** Set the boot order so your Windows installation media is first.
3. **UEFI Mode:** If your SSD supports it, enable UEFI mode and disable legacy options for better support.

4. **Creating Bootable Media:** Use the Media Creation Tool to set up a bootable USB for Windows installation.
5. **Installation:** When you start the install, go for 'Custom: Install Windows only' and select your SSD to format it properly.

Let me know how it goes, and remember, if you're in the UK, I can always drop by to help! 😂

Thanks for the tips, Dave! I’ll give that a shot and see if I can finally get it working.
