I'm currently working from home and accessing my work laptop via RDP from my personal PC. I decided to set up a more efficient workspace without cluttering my desk with multiple machines. I can RDP into my work laptop from my home PC, using dual monitors and shared peripherals. We've recently migrated a legacy management PC to an Azure Virtual Machine, which is up and running. The expectation is to authenticate to this Azure machine using the Windows App. I've installed the Windows App on my work laptop, and while I can see the published computer when I log in with my M365 account, I keep getting an 'incorrect password' message when trying to log in to the Azure VM through the Windows App. I'm sure my password is correct since it works fine when I type it directly on my laptop. The issue seems to arise when I'm connected via RDP; I can authenticate using the Azure machine when I'm logged in directly to my work laptop. I'm looking for any insights on why this might be happening or how to resolve it, as currently, I have to walk over to my laptop for accessing it directly.

Have you tried RDPing into the console session of your work laptop instead of just a regular RDP session? You can do this by running 'mstsc /admin' from the Run command. This might bypass the restriction you’re facing and allow you to log in to the Azure VM more effectively.
It looks like you might've missed a recent announcement about the January security patch that affects Azure Virtual Desktop authentication through the Windows App. Check to see if there's a specific fix or update related to your issue. That might be a good starting point!
Thanks for the heads up! Actually, I did apply the patch, but now I'm encountering a different issue: an error message that says 'The sign-in method you are trying to use isn't allowed.' It still seems to authenticate me with the Windows App when I’m RDP'd into my work laptop but fails when logging in from there.
