Trouble Upgrading My RAM – Need Help!

I recently tried to upgrade my RAM from a 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz T-Force Vulcan Z kit to a 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 Vengeance LPX 3200MHz kit. After installing the new RAM, my computer won't boot. I've heard I might need to check the BIOS settings, particularly for something called XMP. My motherboard is an ASrock B550M-C. I made sure to install the new sticks in the A2 and B2 slots, but I'm wondering if switching them to A1 and B1 would make a difference. I'm also linking to my motherboard manual for any helpful insights.

First, consider clearing the CMOS on your motherboard. You can do this by removing the CMOS battery or following the instructions in your manual. This might help reset any settings that are causing issues. Also, check out some videos on how to do this and how to enable XMP in BIOS—it might just be what you need! Also, sticking with the A2/B2 slots is usually best for dual-channel configurations. By the way, which CPU are you using? Compatibility can sometimes depend on that.

I'm using a Ryzen 7 5700x. I haven’t updated the BIOS since I got it, so maybe that’s worth doing.
