I'm trying to upgrade my system to Windows 11, but I'm running into issues with my WD SN770 NVMe drive. Even after following advice to upgrade the firmware, I'm still getting blocked from installing Windows 11. This drive is just for extra storage and doesn't contain my OS, so I'm not sure what to do. I'm considering removing the drive before the upgrade, but I'm worried it won't be recognized once I plug it back in. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

What error message are you seeing when you try to upgrade? It might help if you could share a screenshot. Sometimes the specifics of the error can point you in the right direction.
Make sure you power off your system completely after the firmware update. I've read about issues with the SN770 not being picked up unless you do that. It's known for having some serious firmware bugs, so power cycling might just be what you need to get it recognized.
I had the exact same problem! After upgrading the firmware, make sure you reboot your system and check that the firmware version is correct. Then give the installation another shot. It worked for me after a couple tries.
