Hey everyone! I've got a bit of a mess with my Apple IDs after a recent software update on my iPhone 16 and 15 Pro Max, which are linked and use the same Apple ID. I also have an iPhone 13 Pro Max with a different Apple ID. When I try to update apps on my 15 and 16, it keeps asking for the password of the Apple ID tied to my 13. I verified I'm logged into the right account, but Apple Support couldn't solve it and mentioned that my accounts might have merged due to transferring devices a couple of years back. I tried signing in with that password, but it says it's incorrect. They suggested a factory reset of my phones, but I'm worried that if I do that and log into iCloud again, I'll just run into the same issue. Should I delete any problematic apps first? I can't just create a new Apple ID because I need all my business data on iCloud. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I’d recommend deleting the apps that are asking for the password for your other Apple ID. Once you’ve done that, you can redownload them using your current Apple ID. Remember, app downloads act like purchases, so they stay tied to the Apple ID that downloaded them, even through backups!
We tried that approach while I had the Apple tech on the line, but even when I delete the apps, they seem to come back from iCloud and ask for the same password again.
