Trouble with Factory Reset on My MSI Laptop

Hey everyone, I'm having a bit of trouble with my MSI Creator 15 Laptop. I've been trying to either factory reset it or do a fresh install of Windows, but I keep running into the same issue. The process gets to the 'Computer Resting...' screen, and then the fans go wild before it shuts down unexpectedly. I figured it might be a temperature problem, so I had the laptop cleaned and repasted, and it's definitely cooler now, but that hasn't solved the issue. Any thoughts on what I can do?

You might want to skip the built-in factory reset since it’s known to be buggy. Instead, consider doing a clean install of Windows from a USB drive. Just make sure to use the Windows Media Creation tool rather than a third-party program like Rufus. If the installation fails again, try the other method. It can really help avoid issues during the process,

I just ended up in safe mode too after my attempts. What a mess!

Have you checked if you can download a fresh copy of the install media from MSI? That might give you a clean slate and fix the errors you’re experiencing with the reset.

Yeah, the built-in reset can really mess things up. After trying a clean install, if you're still encountering issues, double-check the USB drive used for installation. Sometimes the source can affect the outcome significantly.
