Trouble with KEF EGG Speakers on Windows 11 USB

I recently made the switch from Windows 10 to Windows 11 (25H2) with a clean install and updated my BIOS. Now, my USB-connected KEF EGG speakers are not being recognized like they used to. They worked fine when plugged into my rear I/O ports, but now they aren't detected at all. I did try connecting them to a front USB socket, which uses the USB 2.0 header, and sometimes they are recognized but often turn off within a minute. I adjusted the 'USB Selective Suspend' setting in the power options, which helped with the shutoff issue, but I'm keen on getting them to work properly with the rear connection again.

Here's my setup:
- KEF EGG speakers using a mini USB cable for the built-in DAC and control. They don't require specific drivers and should work with standard USB class drivers. They are a few years old but deliver great sound.
- My motherboard is an ASUS TUF Gaming X670E-PLUS WiFi which only has USB 3.2 GEN 1 and 2 on the rear I/O.
- I have tested with three different mini USB cables, all yielding the same frustrating results.

Any help would be appreciated!

It sounds like you've followed a lot of troubleshooting steps! One more thing to try is to check if your motherboard’s USB ports are configured properly in the BIOS. Sometimes, settings get reset during updates. Also, ensure there aren’t any power-saving features for USB ports enabled in the BIOS that might cause them to turn off. Lastly, if possible, try using a powered USB hub; sometimes that helps with stability issues for USB devices.

Have you made sure to download all the original drivers for your motherboard, rather than just relying on Microsoft’s generic ones? It’s crucial to have the right drivers for everything to work seamlessly. Check out the ASUS support site for your TUF Gaming X670E-PLUS WiFi motherboard. They have a specific Drivers section where you can find the Realtek Audio Driver and the AMD Chipset driver that are compatible with Windows 11. Installing those might just solve your issue!

Thanks for the tip! I actually went ahead and downloaded and installed all the latest drivers from the support page, including both the Realtek audio and AMD chipset drivers, right after I set up Windows. Unfortunately, I'm still having the same issue.
