I recently upgraded from a 2080 Ti to a 5070 Ti while keeping my i9-9900K and 32GB of RAM. Previously, everything ran smoothly without any issues, but now I'm experiencing lag in games, even when I set the graphics to low. I'm wondering what could be causing this lag. Is it possible that my CPU is bottlenecking performance, or could it be something else? How can I diagnose the issue?

You could think about upgrading to a newer CPU like the 14600KF. That could really resolve a lot of performance issues you're facing. Just check if your current motherboard and RAM will work fine with it!
It sounds like a CPU bottleneck might be at play here. Have you tried using DDU to uninstall old GPU drivers before installing the new ones? That might help with the performance issues you're seeing.
When you say you're experiencing lag, can you clarify if it's stuttering, frame drops, or something else entirely? Is this happening in all games or just specific ones?
Another thing to check is if your monitor is plugged into the GPU or directly into the motherboard. Make sure it's connected to the GPU for optimal performance.
If you're worried about bottlenecking, keep an eye on CPU and GPU usage while gaming. Tools like MSI Afterburner can help you monitor that.

I haven't done that yet, I just plugged in the new GPU and installed the Nvidia drivers.
