Trouble with New Router – Unidentified Network Issues

Hey everyone! I recently had a power surge that caused my router and wifi extender to stop working. I replaced the router and connected it directly to my PC using an Ethernet cable, but now I'm facing an "Unidentified Network" issue along with a message saying "Ethernet doesn't have a valid IP configuration." I've tried numerous solutions I've found on various forums, including using the Ipconfig and Netsh commands, restarting and hard rebooting everything. I'm currently on Windows 10 and can share my component details if needed. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I'm open to chatting or jumping into a Discord call to troubleshoot this further. This has been really frustrating!

It sounds like you might have a setup issue with your network. Do you have your ISP’s modem connected to your new router? If so, make sure your PC is connected to one of the LAN ports on the router. Also, it’d help if you could share the results from an "ipconfig /all" command. This will show if your PC is getting the correct IP settings. You should also be able to see your default gateway there. If that’s missing, it could indicate a bigger issue with the router or its configuration.

Just to add on, if your default gateway is showing up empty, it means your PC isn’t getting any IP address from the router. Have you tried resetting your router? You might also want to check your Ethernet cable to make sure it’s solidly connected or try a different cable just to rule that out. Sometimes a simple cable issue can lead to these kinds of connectivity problems.
