I've been dealing with a frustrating WiFi issue for the past year. Whenever I download a game on my Xbox Series S, my WiFi seems to momentarily cut out, sometimes lasting from 10 seconds to as long as 10 minutes. We got a new router this Christmas, but it didn't help at all. Now, about a month later, my download speeds have drastically dropped from around 100-250 Mbps to just 20-80 Mbps, which is a significant downgrade. The issue isn't affecting my gaming experience; I'm lag-free while playing, but downloading is a real hassle. I'm using an Ethernet cable — admittedly an older one — and testing shows no difference between wired and wireless. My connection shows as connected. What do you think could be causing this? I'm really puzzled and would appreciate any insights.

You might want to start by testing your download speeds with a speed test on your computer or phone. Just because your games are downloading slowly doesn’t necessarily mean your entire connection is down. It could just be a temporary issue. Also, if you haven’t already, consider getting a new Ethernet cable as your current one is old, and sometimes that alone can make a difference. Good luck!
It sounds really frustrating! Since you mentioned you are using an old cable, it wouldn’t hurt to replace it. Bad cables can sometimes lead to issues like this. After you test your speeds on your phone, if they're still fine, go ahead and order a new cord. It might just solve your download problems! Let us know how it goes!
