Upgraded to Ryzen 9 9800X3D but Can’t Get It to Post – Help!

I just made the leap from a 9900K to a 9800X3D, but now I'm facing a problem where my computer won't post. When I turn it on, I see both a red and an orange LED lighting up, which I think indicate CPU and DRAM issues. I've checked that my memory is seated properly and that the CPU was installed correctly—it's locked into the socket as it should be. All the necessary cables are connected, including the 8 and 4 pin power cables, CPU fans, and power/reset buttons. My RAM is also on the motherboard's qualified vendor list. I'm using the MSI Pro B650M-A, which is marked as 'Ryzen 9000 ready,' so I assumed I was good to go. I even tried to flash the BIOS using a USB, but after half an hour, the BIOS light remains flashing white, suggesting it's still in the process of flashing. What steps can I take from here for diagnostics? Should I interrupt the BIOS flash or let it continue?

I’d power everything off, take out the CMOS battery, and then try flashing the BIOS again. Make sure your USB drive is properly set up as FAT32 and that you followed all necessary steps for renaming the file and using the right USB port. A different USB stick may also be worth a shot if this doesn’t work.

I checked everything you mentioned except removing the CMOS battery. If the box says 'Ryzen 9000 ready,' doesn’t that mean a BIOS update shouldn’t be needed to post?

You might want to update the BIOS first. It could help resolve your issue. Just make sure you follow the flashing procedure correctly!
