Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my CPU to enhance my VR experience. Currently, I'm using an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X with an MSI MPGX570 motherboard. What's the best CPU I can get that's compatible with my motherboard? I'm particularly interested in any upgrades that will improve performance for VR gaming, especially since I have a 4070 Super Ti graphics card that feels limited by my current CPU. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've been looking at the Ryzen 7 5800XT myself. It should give you a noticeable boost in VR games. I play Skyrim VR with mods, and upgrading to that CPU made a big difference in performance. It’s a good investment if you want smoother gameplay!
I just upgraded from a 3700X to the 5800XT and noticed a big difference in games like Cities: Skylines and DaVinci Resolve! If VR is your primary concern, this CPU will definitely help with any bottlenecks you’re experiencing. Highly recommend it!
One major thing to consider when switching CPUs is removing the old one cleanly. I've heard that thermal paste can be tough to get off after all these years. Make sure to use some isopropyl alcohol and a good cleaning cloth to ensure a smooth swap. It should help with the replacement process!
The AMD Ryzen 7 5800XT is a solid choice! It’s one of the only AM4 CPUs available right now and should fit well with your setup. Just keep in mind that some of the X3D models are super pricey or out of stock, so this one at around $200 is a decent find. It might not be the very highest-end option, but it’s definitely a step up!
Definitely consider the 5800X3D if you can find one, but yeah, they really are climbing in price. If they're not available, the 5800XT will do nicely, too! You’ll see a big improvement in your frame rates, especially for VR. Just remember to optimize your RAM speed for the best performance!
