Upgrading from a 2070 Super to RTX 50xx: Will my 5800X3D CPU Hold Me Back for 1080p?

I've got a Ryzen 7 5800X3D paired with a Full HD 144Hz monitor, and I'm thinking about upgrading from my 2070 Super. I'm considering the RTX 5070 Ti, but I'm concerned about whether my CPU might bottleneck performance at 1080p. Are there any alternatives to the 5070 Ti I should consider if that's going to be an issue?

You might want to check out the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB. It should work nicely with your 5800X3D, ensuring you won’t hit any bottlenecks while still delivering great gaming at 1080p and even 1440p.

Honestly, the 5800X3D combined with a 5060 Ti 16GB should be a pretty solid setup for 1080p gaming. If you're looking for something with a bit more punch and might consider 1440p down the line, a 9070 at MSRP could be a good option too.

Regarding the choice between the 5060 Ti and the 5070, I'd say go for the 5070 if the price difference isn't too big. It has better performance based on tests and 12GB of VRAM is totally sufficient for 1080p. Just ensure you won't upgrade to 1440p with it later if you pick that card!

Absolutely, the price difference is minimal, and the 5070 will handle 1080p gaming brilliantly, with some decent performance in 1440p too.

If you're sure you'll stick to 1080p, then 12GB VRAM should be enough. But if you like the 5070 price, I'd say grab it—it will give you a better experience overall.
