I'm currently using a Ryzen 5 2400X with an RTX 2060, and I'm thinking about upgrading my CPU. I'm on a budget, but my motherboard supports the Ryzen 5 5600X. What do you all think about this upgrade? Would it make a significant difference for gaming, especially since I've noticed my CPU maxing out while gaming, like when I'm playing Fortnite?

If you're looking for a solid upgrade, the Ryzen 7 5700X3D is the best option out there—if your budget allows. But if not, the Ryzen 5 5600X is still a great choice! It should offer a noticeable performance boost for your setup.
I had an RTX 2060 paired with a 5700X3D, and the FPS boost in online shooters was incredible. If you can swing it, you won't regret the upgrade!
So, would upgrading from the 2400X to the 5600X actually make a noticeable difference, or just a slight bump?
I've actually ordered a Ryzen 5 5600, so I'm pumped to see how it performs. Thanks for all the advice, everyone!
It really depends on your motherboard, but if it's compatible, you'd be fine with any Ryzen 2000, 3000, or 5000 series CPU. Right now, the Ryzen 5700X3D is the top dog in that lineup, but even the 5600X would be a solid upgrade. You’ll definitely see an improvement in performance.
You'd see a big jump in performance! The 5700X3D can almost double your performance compared to the old setup. The 5600X will still give you a noticeable improvement, especially in games.
