Hey everyone! I'm new to PC building and I'm making an upgrade from a Ryzen 5 7600X to a Ryzen 7 7800X3D. I have a MSI B650 motherboard with WiFi. I was wondering if I can just swap in the new CPU and boot it up, or do I need to do something else beforehand? Any tips would be appreciated!

Before you switch CPUs, it’s a good idea to set your BIOS to default settings. This helps prevent any compatibility issues. Once you do that, you can just swap out the CPUs and boot it up!
So just to clarify, do I reset the BIOS to default? I want to make sure I get this right.
