Upgrading My 7-Year-Old PC: Is My GPU and CPU Choice Good?

Hey everyone! I've been using my PC since 2019, and I'm finally ready to make some upgrades since it's been quite a while. Here are my current specs:

- **Operating System:** Windows 10 Home 64-bit
- **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 5 2600X
- **RAM:** 16.0GB Dual-Channel Unknown @ 1066MHz
- **Motherboard:** Micro-Star International Co. Ltd. A320M-A PRO (MS-7C51) (AM4)
- **Graphics:** 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 (Gigabyte)

I'm planning to replace my GPU with the Radeon RX 9060 XT Reaper 16GB, upgrade my CPU to the Ryzen 7 5800X, and increase my RAM to 32GB (CORSAIR VENGEANCE LPX DDR4). I want to know if these upgrades will be compatible with my current motherboard and if these choices are solid overall. Also, are there any additional things I need to keep in mind when making these upgrades? Thanks for any advice!

I'd suggest caution with upgrading on the A320 motherboard since it's a budget board. You might find a used B450 for a reasonable price, which would give you better stability with your new parts. And yes, definitely update the BIOS!

If you're in the US and considering an AM5 setup, Microcenter has some solid bundles. Check them out! Just keep in mind that with AM5, you might run into higher DDR5 prices, but bundles can help ease the cost.

Totally agree with what others have said! Just remember to get a good cooler for your new CPU. The Ryzen 7 5800X definitely benefits from proper cooling, so plan for that when you're making your upgrades.

Your choices look great! Just make sure to update your motherboard's BIOS before swapping the CPU, and don't forget to enable XMP after you upgrade your RAM. That will help ensure everything runs smoothly.
