Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my gaming setup and need some advice. I plan to stick with my B450 Tomahawk Max II motherboard while upgrading a few key components within a budget of $900. Here's what I currently have:
- CPU: Ryzen 5 3600
- GPU: GTX 1660 Super
- RAM: 16GB (2x8) Corsair Vengeance 3200MHz
- PSU: 300W
For the upgrades, I'm considering:
- CPU: Ryzen 7 5800XT
- GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5060 Ti (16GB version)
- RAM: Upgrading to 32GB (Should I add 2 more sticks or buy a new 2x16 kit?)
- PSU: MSI MAG A750GL (750W Gold, ATX 3.1)
My main question is whether my B450 board will have any issues with the PCIe 5.0 on the 5060 Ti. I'm aware it'll operate at PCIe 3.0 speeds, but will this cause any major performance loss?

You'll probably see about a 5% performance drop due to PCIe 3.0, which isn't terrible if you're fine with it. The 5800XT is about the same price as the 5700X, so it might give you a little extra power. Adding two more sticks of RAM should work fine, just make sure they're the same specs as your current ones!
The performance loss depends on the game, but generally, the 16GB VRAM version handles PCIe 3.0 well. I’d say go for a 2x16 kit for easier system stability. Also, think about moving to a B550 board in the future if you want more PCIe options!
