Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice on my current build as I plan to upgrade every 3-5 years. Here are my specs for my AMD4 system:
- Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix X570-E
- CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X3D
- RAM: 4x16GB 3200MHz DDR4
- GPU: RX 7900 XT 20GB
- PSU: 850W Gold
I've got two monitors, one at 3440x1440 144Hz and another at 2440x1440 144Hz.
Now, I have a few questions:
1. Should I consider upgrading anything in my setup, or would it be better to switch to an AM5 system?
2. Is my PC still up-to-date? I know I might be a generation or two behind, especially given the high prices of components right now.
3. My Windows is on a 6-year-old SSD, but it works fine. I also have my games on a 2TB NVMe 2.0. If I ever need to replace my SSD, can I transfer my Windows to a new one easily? I don't mind reinstalling everything if necessary.
I appreciate any help or tips you can offer! Thanks!

You've got a solid setup! The Ryzen 5800X3D is the best you can get for AM4, and switching to AM5 would only be slightly better, if at all. The RX 7900 XT is still decent, but unless you're looking at something like the RTX 5080 or 5090, the performance boost probably won't justify the expense. Honestly, it's probably best to wait it out unless you see major performance drops.

Thanks for the feedback! I’ll hold off on upgrades for a bit. Red Dead plays beautifully on my system!
