Upgrading My Buddy’s Used PC: What Should I Focus On?

I recently bought a used gaming PC from my friend, and I'm looking to upgrade it. The system specs include an Intel i5 10400F processor, 8GB of memory, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card, a 240GB SSD, and a 1TB HDD. I'm unsure about what parts would be compatible and what the best upgrade options are for improving performance. Any suggestions?

If you're looking for a solid upgrade, consider replacing the GTX 1650, since it's a bit underwhelming for gaming. Just check what power supply you have; anything above a 75W GPU will need extra power, so a PSU upgrade might be necessary too.

I'd suggest upgrading the RAM to 32GB, either by getting a single 32GB stick or a pair of 16GB sticks. Mixing RAM types isn't always stable. Also, think about moving to a better SSD for your OS to speed things up and maybe swapping out the graphics card depending on your budget for gaming performance.

That sounds like a plan! Upgrading the RAM and getting a better SSD will really enhance performance.

Honestly, if you can, consider upgrading everything since many parts could be considered obsolete. Look into options that balance cost with performance based on what you want to do with the PC.

Wow, really? I thought the setup was decent for casual gaming.
