I'm looking to upgrade my desktop for better gaming performance but I want to stick to a budget of $500. I built my current setup back in 2019 and I'm not keen on changing my motherboard. Here's what I have right now: an Acer 27'' 1440p 144Hz monitor, a Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, a Power Color Red Devil 5700 XT GPU, 16 GB of DDR4 3200 RAM, an MSI B450 Tomahawk Max motherboard, a 650 watts EVGA Gold PSU, and an NZXT H510 case with stock fans.
I can potentially sell my GPU for around $100 to $150 locally. I'm currently playing Borderlands 4 on low settings and getting about 40-50 FPS. I'd like to upgrade to high graphics settings, and I'm interested in future games like GTA 6, Elden Ring 2, and more. I have access to Microcenter in Tustin, California. Any advice on what CPU and GPU to go for would be greatly appreciated!

You might want to consider trading in your old parts for a better deal. For around $575, you can get a Ryzen 7 5800XT, a 32GB RAM kit, and the RX 9060 XT. Just a little over budget but worth it for the performance you’ll gain!
If you're looking to save some cash, you could go for a Ryzen 5600 or 5600X. They're pretty affordable after a BIOS update! Plus, the 9060 XT would be a solid choice around $350.
That sounds reasonable, I'll check it out. Thanks!
You should definitely consider upgrading to the Ryzen 7 5800XT CPU and a 9060 XT GPU. If you can grab 32GB of RAM too, that would really boost your performance!
Great, will do this. Thank you so much!
Wow, everyone's recommending the Ryzen 7 5800XT CPU and 9060 XT GPU combo! All righty! Definitely helped me make up my mind. Thank you!
