Upgrading My GPU: Need Advice on CPU and Compatibility

Hey there! I'm currently using a second-hand 1660 Super, but I'm facing some serious issues when trying to run games at my monitor's full resolution of 2560x1440. I've been thinking about upgrading to a 9070 XT or something similar to handle modern games. My current CPU is a Ryzen 5 5600X (I hope that's correct; it's 4 AM, and I'm too tired to check right now). I also believe my power supply is an 850W unit. I'm looking for advice on a good budget CPU that won't bottleneck the performance too much since I'm about to make a significant investment in a new GPU. Also, I'm based in Australia—does that affect availability? Any help would be awesome!

If you do have the Ryzen 5 5600X, you'll be just fine using that with the 9070 XT. It should handle modern games quite well without causing any major bottlenecks.

Great point! Just keep in mind that you might not want to go for the latest CPU models because DDR5 pricing can get pretty high right now.

Yeah, exactly! But I'd still recommend double-checking your whole build, including what PSU you have, before diving into a GPU upgrade. Better safe than sorry!
