Hey everyone, I finally have a budget of around $1000 to upgrade my PC. Currently, I've got a Ryzen 7 3800XT, an NVIDIA 3060 Ti, 16GB of Corsair Dominator RAM (2x8GB), and a B550 Mortar motherboard. I'm looking to make my gaming experience as smooth as possible. Any suggestions or specific components I should go for?

What kind of games are you into? If you're playing stuff like Rocket League, Ark, or Dead by Daylight, I’d suggest funneling most of your budget into a new GPU. The upgrades you make aside from that won’t provide as significant an improvement compared to a quality graphics card. Maybe consider the 5800X3D if you're looking for a boost in competitive gaming.

With your budget, I'd suggest focusing on getting a powerful GPU. Going for the 5700X3D would be a smart move, and then spend the remainder of your cash on a high-end graphics card. Upgrading to an AM5 setup can be quite pricey, so stick with Ryzen 5000 series if possible. You could get a GPU in the $700 range which should give you a significant performance boost!

If I do get the 5700X3D, what would be the ideal GPU to pair with it and my current build, assuming budget isn't a problem?

Consider grabbing a Ryzen 7 5700X3D for around $170 and pair it with either a 5070 Ti or a 9070 XT, depending on which fits your budget. Also, you’ll want to increase your RAM since more will help with performance. Just make sure the additional RAM sticks are compatible with what you already have!

I’d recommend going for the 5700X3D and upgrading your RAM to 32GB (2x16GB at 3600MHz). Then, allocate the rest of your budget towards a new GPU, such as the 5070 Ti or the 9070 XT, depending on prices. Instead of matching your current RAM, it’s safer to just buy a new kit altogether since manufacturers have various revisions that might create compatibility issues.
