Hey everyone! I'm new to posting here, and I'm looking for some guidance on upgrading my PC with the help of PCPartPicker. I'm getting a warning about the Asus PRIME B650-PLUS ATX AM5 motherboard that says it supports the AMD Ryzen 5 8500G, but only with BIOS version 1807. What's curious is that when I select the Wi-Fi version of the same motherboard, I don't see any warning. Do you think I can safely buy the non-Wi-Fi version, or should I stick with the Wi-Fi option?

Both motherboards would work fine, but you might need to use the BIOS flash button to update it from a flash drive if you get the non-Wi-Fi version. Check out the motherboard manual for instructions on that. However, if you’re planning a gaming build, I’d advise against the Ryzen 8500G. It has significantly less L3 cache than the 7500F and its integrated GPU struggles with 1080p gaming. Also, it only supports PCIe 4 at X4 speed, which can bottle neck your GPU. If you can, take a look at other options that fit your budget better.
Thanks! I'm not gaming anymore, just using it for browsing and media playback, plus my kids' homework.
