Upgrading My PC: Should I Just Swap the Motherboard or Go All Out?

I recently upgraded my video card from a 2080 Super to a 5070 Ti, and thankfully, it's working well and is definitely an improvement. However, I have a feeling my current motherboard, which is around 5 years old, might be bottlenecking my system. Here's my setup:

- AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
- ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING motherboard
- 4x32GB DDR4 RAM
- RTX 5070 Ti
- 1000 Watt power supply
- A few hard drives and a WiFi card

I'm considering upgrading the motherboard but want to keep costs down and reuse my current components if they're compatible. I'm also curious if CPU upgrades are genuinely worth it based on performance leaps lately, especially since I use my rig for work and 3D rendering, which can get pretty intensive. Any advice or insights on what I should do next? I don't build PCs often, so the process can feel overwhelming. Thank you!

First off, don't stress too much about just changing the motherboard. If you're planning to upgrade the CPU too, you'll need a new motherboard that supports the latest AM5 socket along with new RAM because your current setup won’t be compatible. I recommend monitoring your system with Task Manager to see what components are maxing out during heavy usage. That'll give you a better idea of whether your CPU is holding you back or if it's something else. Remember, just swapping the motherboard alone won’t boost performance significantly.'

Good call on the monitoring! I had a similar issue and it turned out my GPU was actually underperforming due to bandwidth restrictions. Keeping the motherboard as is might be a good short-term solution.
