I recently purchased a prebuilt PC but realized it doesn't quite meet my needs. It has a Ryzen 5 7500F processor, a non-XT XFX 9060 graphics card with 8GB, 16GB of Team T Force Delta 5600MHz RAM, a 1TB Team T Force SSD, and an MSI 650W Bronze power supply, all housed in a Kolink Observatory case. I've noticed that the PC crashes whenever I overclock the RAM, though I'm not sure why that's happening. I'm considering an upgrade to improve VR capabilities. I'm looking at options like the 9060XT 16GB, 9070 or 9070XT, and possibly boosting the RAM to 32GB. What AMD upgrade options would be best, and what changes would I need to make to my current setup? I'm also aware that I'd need to upgrade my power supply.

It sounds like your VR needs will definitely benefit from a GPU upgrade! Just keep in mind that stability issues with overclocking can often stem from RAM that isn’t compatible or just bad luck with the silicon lottery. If you're looking for a smoother experience in VR, the 9070XT is indeed the way to go, as it can provide substantial performance increases. You'll have to manually tune your RAM if you want better speeds than standard, but it’s likely the new GPU will be the biggest upgrade. Also, upgrading to 32GB of RAM would definitely help with multitasking when gaming!

What’s the optimal way to test new RAM if I decide to change it?
