Upgrading to a 5060 Ti but not seeing the expected performance—what’s going on?

Hey everyone! I recently upgraded my GPU from a 1060 6GB to a 5060 Ti 16GB, expecting a big boost in performance, especially since I mainly play Destiny. However, I'm only getting around 144 frames in orbit and it drops to 60-90 when I'm in action, which seems off. I've checked the GPU utilization, and it's around 30-40% during those drops, while the 3D performance shows 99% usage. I'm not even running everything on high settings, usually keeping things at medium. One potential issue is that I'm using a PCIe 3.0 port after breaking the clip on my PCIe 4.0 slot. I'm also ensuring my drivers are updated and my internet connection is fine. I'm wondering if this upgrade was not worth it, and if I should consider returning it. Here are my specs: ASUS computer with an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, 16GB RAM, and all the details in the specs below. I'd really appreciate your insights!

Two key things to check. First, make sure you enable XMP/DOCP for your RAM, as it looks like it's only running at 2133 MHz. Also, you mentioned using a Gen 3 PCIe slot. If you're not using the top slot closest to the CPU, that could be an issue. The lower slots might not provide enough bandwidth for your GPU, which can lead to performance drops. Switching them around might help!

Thanks for the tip! I was actually using the lower slot because the top one broke. I had read that the difference between 3.0 and 4.0 wasn't major, but now I see that lanes matter. I'm going to switch them and enable XMP too.
