Upgrading to Ryzen 7800X3D and Radeon RX 7800 XT – Any Bottleneck Concerns?

I've recently upgraded my PC with a Radeon RX 7800 XT and a Corsair 850W PSU. Currently, I'm running an Intel i5 8400, which really struggles while I'm playing space sims like Star Citizen and to a lesser extent, Elite Dangerous. My motherboard is an MSI Z370 PC Pro, and I have DDR4 Corsair RAM. I'm now planning to upgrade the rest of my setup. Will the Ryzen 7800X3D be a good match with the RX 7800 XT, or should I be worried about any bottleneck? Also, what motherboard would you recommend for this pairing?

Sounds like a solid upgrade! You should be fine with any B650 motherboard for your setup.

Honestly, I doubt the Ryzen 7800X3D will bottleneck the RX 7800 XT. It's one of the best gaming CPUs out there, so it should pair really well. For motherboards, go with a nice B650 model that gets good reviews. And for RAM, aim for 32GB of 6000MHz CL30 to keep things running smoothly.

Your Ryzen 7800X3D won't bottleneck even something like a 4090! If you're looking at B650 motherboards, try to find one with a 12 or 14 phase for VRM. That'll give you some extra stability. By the way, here’s a good option: [MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk WiFi](https://www.cclonline.com/mag-b650-tomahawk-wifi-msi-mag-b650-tomahawk-wifi-atx-motherboard-for-amd-am5-cpus-394791/). I already have it and it works great.

Not sure about the VRM thing you mentioned, but I'll look into it!
