Was the RTX 3050 a Poor Choice for My First PC Build?

I recently set up my first gaming PC and decided to go with the RTX 3050, which I got for about $185. I've heard that this GPU isn't very good compared to others. Are there better options I could have chosen at that price?

Even the best 8GB version of the 3050 struggles with modern games. If you can find a used RX 5700 XT or RX 6600 XT for under $200, they would be much better picks.

Yeah, I agree! The RX 5700 series is a solid choice, especially if you're gaming.

I snagged a used 6650XT for $150, and it outdoes the 3050 easily. You could also find a 6700 for around $200 if you look carefully. Just be patient when hunting for deals!

The RX 6600 generally outperforms the RTX 3050 and can often be found around the same price point. It delivers 15-25% more frames per second, especially for gaming, which might be your primary focus.

The 3050 will run fine on medium settings at 1080p. While it’s not the best GPU out there, don't stress too much about it. Enjoy your new build and you can always upgrade later if needed!

Totally! I had a 3050 for a while and it handled most games pretty well at decent settings.
