I'm trying to decide between two amazing SSDs: the WD_BLACK 2TB SN850X NVMe and the Samsung 990 PRO NVMe M.2 PCIe Gen4. Both are priced the same and seem to be top-tier options. I plan to use the SSD mainly for gaming and some editing, but I'm mainly focused on gaming. Is there a significant difference between these two, or can I go with either one?

Honestly, both of these drives are fantastic, and for everyday use, you probably won't notice any difference at all. They're both overkill for typical tasks, so you can't go wrong with either one.
Yeah, they’re both solid choices! I have both and I really regret nothing – they absolutely crush it in performance. At the end of the day, just choose the one with the cooler sticker!
If you're looking at something specific, what's your intended use? For gaming and editing, either of these would be great. You'll likely not notice much difference during gameplay!
The Samsung 990 PRO is slightly better, but honestly, we're talking a small margin. There's a helpful spreadsheet on NewMaxx that breaks down the differences if you're curious. But for gaming, both will serve you well!
Thanks! I mostly care about performance in games, so it's great to know they’re close!
