Weird IR Behavior on My iPhone 15 Pro – Is it a Glitch or Something Else?

I've been noticing some strange behavior with the front infrared (IR) on my iPhone 15 Pro. It keeps flashing so much that it's become distracting on my car dashcam when my phone is mounted. After some previous discussions where people thought it might just be related to FaceID or the Attention Awareness feature, I decided to take it to an Apple Store for comparison. I tested it alongside a brand new iPhone 16 Pro. Both phones had the Attention Awareness feature turned off and were on the home screen to eliminate FaceID as a factor. The results were surprising: my phone had a constant flashing of the IR and displayed a whiteout flash with the dot matrix, while the demo phone only lit up occasionally. I've captured video evidence of this, but there's a bigger concern here; the irregular flashes make me wonder if there's some sort of hacking going on since IR can be used for covert photography and data transmission. The Apple Store team couldn't diagnose the issue, and I'm left wondering how to get to the bottom of this. Any insights or suggestions would be appreciated!

If this is really happening, trying a DFU (Device Firmware Update) restore might help. It wipes everything and installs fresh firmware straight from Apple's servers, which ensures there haven't been any modifications. Just remember to back up your data beforehand! If it's a software issue, this could sort it out.

I appreciate the suggestion! If they did a basic scan at the Apple Store and didn’t find anything, is there any way to check for specific alterations myself?
