I recently cloned my Windows 10 drive, and now I'm experiencing some strange sound issues. Instead of the volume mixer I was used to, it seems to be showing an old mixer. Whenever I try to right-click to access sound settings, it always opens the Sound Control Panel instead. In fact, both the Sound and Sound Settings options lead to the Sound Control Panel. It's frustrating because I have to manually search for the Sound Settings through Windows. Even the troubleshoot option that usually comes up with a right-click on the sound icon isn't functioning. However, if I go through Windows Settings and launch the troubleshooter from there, it works fine. Has anyone else encountered similar sound problems after cloning their drive?

It sounds like you did a straight 1:1 drive clone, which shouldn’t normally affect software settings like the mixer. Have you checked if Windows updated after the cloning process? That might have changed your default settings. Also, keep an eye on your audio drivers—they could also be playing a role here.
I get your frustration! Cloning your drive shouldn't really change the sound settings, but if you’re dealing with an older mixer, something might’ve gone wonky during the process. Have you tried updating your audio drivers or checking if the volume settings in the Control Panel are synced correctly? Sometimes manual tweaks could resolve the issue.
You’re definitely not alone with these problems after a drive clone! Since your troubleshooter is only working when launched through Settings, maybe try restoring your audio settings to default. If the mixer looks outdated, reinstalling or updating the audio driver might fix this mess. It's worth a shot!
