I've been working as a DevOps contractor for five years and I'm looking to start new projects. I'm curious about the rates being offered by recruiters across the EU for roles that involve modern cloud technologies like AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform. From what I've seen, the rates seem to be declining, with many senior positions offering around €60/hour. I'd love to hear about your experiences and what rates you're encountering!

Yeah, it seems common for senior DevOps positions now to offer about €60/hour, especially for skills involving AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform. There are still some gigs that can pay €70-€80/hour, but those are pretty competitive and less frequent.
The EU is quite diverse. Are you looking for rates across specific countries or just a general idea?
I’ve noticed rates have stayed pretty stable at around €50/hour, just like they were 2-3 years ago. So it seems like there hasn't been much change in that timeframe.
In the Paris region, the average rates for contracts (usually for 1-3 years) are around €450-€500 per day, which is lower than a few years back. For more experienced roles, it can go up to €600-€650, but you don't see those as often now. Outside Paris, you can expect about €400. The market has been tough with many new freelancers coming in, plus budget cuts. I wouldn't be surprised if rates keep dropping.
I’m just interested in general rates across the whole EU, not specific regions.
