I recently decided to give my old PC a new lease on life. It features a Xeon X5670 processor, 16GB of RAM, and an outdated GT 710 graphic card. While I'm unsure of the specific motherboard—since it's from a Chinese brand—I'm looking to upgrade to a more modern graphics card that's compatible with my setup. Most importantly, I want to know which graphic cards would work well without causing performance bottlenecks. Any suggestions?

A GTX 1070 or the RX 580 would definitely work well for you.
Technically, you can use any GPU with your system. However, keep in mind that a really powerful card might be wasted because your older CPU will hold it back. I’d recommend the RX 580 as a solid option.
I wouldn’t go higher than an RX 5600 XT or an RTX 2060. I'm using a Ryzen 5 3600 with a similar setup, and it's good for gaming.
GPUs don't actually use DDR memory; that's your motherboard's job. Just make sure you have a PCIe x16 slot available. However, you can't completely avoid bottlenecks in performance. It’s best to set a budget and get the best GPU within that range. If it's over $400, you might want to consider upgrading your whole platform instead.
You shouldn't have any issues with compatibility since DDR3 RAM doesn't affect the graphics card. Just make sure your motherboard has a PCIe x16 slot for the GPU installation.
It really depends on your case and power supply as well as how well the CPU balances with higher-end graphics. Is it a pre-built or a custom build? Pre-builts might run into space issues or power supply limitations, like not having enough 6 or 8-pin connectors.

This setup has been reliable over the years, and now I'm looking to upgrade the graphics card so I can enjoy better gaming. I found a GT 730 with 4GB VRAM but can't find it anywhere. I’m eager to try a new GPU and, if it works well, I may sell it to fund better components for another build.
