What are good HWinfo alternatives for Linux?

I'm considering making the switch to Linux, but I'm having trouble finding an alternative to HWinfo that meets my needs. While gaming, I usually run HWinfo to monitor the maximum CPU and GPU temperatures after I finish a game. I only have one display, so I need something that can run in the background while I play. I'm looking for software that works on either Bazzite or SteamOS (I'm leaning towards Bazzite), with the capability to log maximum values—averages and minimums would be a nice addition too.

MangoHUD is indeed useful, but keep in mind that it mostly shows real-time values rather than max recorded stats. It sounds like you want something that logs the max values more accurately.

I'm just starting with Gnome myself! I noticed you mentioned trying the Vitals extension. While it’s good, it doesn’t show the max CPU temp, just current temps. You might want to look for that Gnome system monitor app mentioned!

Check out MangoHUD! It's a solid alternative for Linux users, similar to the combo of Afterburner and RivaTuner on Windows. It’s great for monitoring stats while gaming.

If you’re leaning old school, I just use an SSH client on my tablet to run commands like btop or htop while gaming. They give me a detailed view of system performance remotely.

For just temperatures, try configuring the KDE system monitor (I believe it's called plasma-monitor). If you're using Gnome, there's a similar app that pulls from the same sensors. It's pretty much what HWinfo does, so you might want to explore that.
