I'm about to take apart my prebuilt PC and transfer everything into a new case. This is my first time doing this, so I've done a lot of research to avoid messing anything up. I learned that I should use at least 90% rubbing alcohol for removing thermal paste, but I've realized that it's tough to find where I live. Are there any safe alternatives I can use instead?

I get that finding 90% alcohol can be tricky! If it’s hard to get that, you might want to try other options. You can actually use a dry wipe to remove most thermal paste, especially if it’s old and dried up. Just remember to wipe it first dry before using any liquid to avoid smearing. Also, if you can find 75% rubbing alcohol, that should work too, it just takes a little longer to evaporate. It's safer and won’t damage anything when used right!
Using a paper towel works too! But just a heads up, it might leave some residue behind. If the paste has dried, just wiping might not do much either. You might need something more effective to really clean it off.

Okay thank you!
