What are some effective trick questions to spot bots?

I've been running into a lot of bots lately that either deny they're bots or actually do a fair job of pretending to be human. It worries me that I might come across as rude or unprofessional if I keep prodding these accounts, especially since I'm dealing with business inquiries. I'm looking for some updated trick questions or methods to help identify whether I'm talking to a real person or just another bot. Something subtle would be ideal to avoid offending anyone. Any suggestions?

Small talk can be a great way to feel out someone. Ask about the weather or upcoming weekend plans—if they sound robotic, you’ve got your answer!

Exactly! A simple, casual chat can often reveal whether you're human or not!

Also, if you ask about local events and they seem disconnected, that’s a red flag!

How about just asking directly: "I need to check if you're a bot. Please don’t take offense, but tell me a crude joke first." It's blunt but gets results!

Haha, that would definitely weed out some bots!

A bit too aggressive for my taste—I'd rather keep things friendly!

There's no surefire way to identify every bot, unfortunately. Each one is different, and new ones are always popping up. It's all about being aware and trusting your gut.

True, but I'm hoping to get better at spotting them with practice.

Try asking off-the-wall questions like, "Why is red?" or "When is blue?" These types of questions can throw off most bots since they often don't handle abstract queries well.

I love this classic: "What's the capital of South Dakota?" A real person should know it, but a bot might get stuck trying to find an answer.

That's a clever one! Most folks might not remember when they need to.
