What are some good free alternatives to Topaz for AI image upscaling?

I've been using Topaz for AI image upscaling, and while it works great, my usage has decreased recently, so I'm looking for free alternatives. I typically upscale e-commerce images and some web graphics, and occasionally photos that feature faces. I'm aiming for something that produces clean results without needing it to be absolutely perfect. Does anyone have suggestions for free upscalers you've tried and liked?

Just so you know, Topaz isn't actually subscription-based. You can buy it once, but I get why you want a free option!

Have you tried the downloaded version of Upscayl rather than the web one? I find it can give better results, but I do sometimes get mixed results depending on what I'm upscaling.

If Topaz Photo is anything like Topaz Video, I might consider going back for those top results!

Also, Nero AI Video Upscaler could be worth looking into. It might surprise you with its capabilities!

You should check out Upscayl! It's free and open-source, plus it has a ton of different upscalers built right in, giving you some versatility in your upscaling projects.
