What are the best CPU options for DDR4 RAM?

I'm looking for recommendations on the best CPU I can get that works with DDR4 RAM. I recently upgraded to a 5070 GPU, but I feel like my performance is being limited by my 10th gen CPU. I'm not planning to switch to DDR5 RAM right now due to the high prices, so I would love to hear my options. Thanks in advance!

If you're in the same boat as me, I’m currently stuck with a 5600X and a 5070. I was eyeing the 5950X, but I’m not sure if the upgrade would be worth it. I'm curious about the price-performance on that one too.

Don't forget, if you want to upgrade beyond the 11th gen Intel, you'll need a new motherboard. But going for something like the i7 12600K could be a smart move. The compatibility with DDR5 for future upgrades is a plus too.

Honestly, even with DDR4 RAM, I think the Intel 14900K might give you the best gaming performance right now, although it’s not super rational if you’re only gaming. Still, it could outperform some of the previous AMD options.

The 5800X3D is definitely a solid choice, but it's been getting pretty pricey. You might also want to consider options from Intel's 12th or 13th generation, just be sure to update your BIOS as there have been some issues with those chips. Overall, it really comes down to what you can find at a reasonable price!

Yeah, the 5800X3D is great, but at that price, you might as well look at the latest Intel CPUs. Definitely keep an eye on the BIOS updates though!

If you're looking for something more budget-friendly, maybe consider the Core i5 14600K or 14700K. They perform really well and support DDR4. Just make sure you've got the latest BIOS for those overclocking fixes!

Great point! Those i5s are a good balance between price and performance, especially since upgrading to DDR5 would require a new motherboard.
