Hey everyone! I currently have a Ryzen 5 5600X in my setup and I'm not ready to switch to AM5 just yet. I'm looking for a solid CPU upgrade that improves both gaming and general performance without compromising too much in other areas. While I know the 5700X3D and 5800X3D are popular choices for gaming, I'm wondering if they're my best options or if there are other good contenders out there. Thanks in advance!

When people say non-gaming performance, they often mean tasks like video rendering or coding. However, it seems you're mostly talking about everyday stuff like browsing and emailing. If that’s the case, any CPU that excels in gaming, like the 5700X3D or 5800X3D, will handle those lighter tasks just fine!
Honestly, I’d suggest holding onto the 5600X and saving for an AM5 upgrade in the future. It's a bit of a stretch financially right now!
Switching to AM5 will be costly for sure, especially with RAM prices being what they are. I’m planning to stick with AM4 until things stabilize a bit!

I’m just a bit worried that I might lose some general performance due to lower base clock speeds. If gaming is the main focus, are those really the two best options, or is there another sleeper CPU I should consider?
