I've been using Fedora and really enjoying it, but now I'm interested in exploring what Debian-based distributions have to offer, especially since they provide .deb package support. I want to stick with GNOME as my desktop environment since it's my top choice. I'm looking for recommendations on good Debian alternatives, but I'd like to avoid Ubuntu because I feel like their direction is becoming too similar to Windows.

You might want to check out PikaOS. It’s a nice Debian-based distro that comes with GNOME pre-installed, and I've heard good things about its performance!

Honestly, if you're just after .deb packages, a switch might not be necessary. Debian itself is great and offers all the benefits you’re looking for!

Have you tried VanillaOS? It’s an immutable OS based on Debian, and it supports GNOME as well! Definitely worth a look.

Why not go with plain Debian? It's solid and offers plenty of support for GNOME out of the box! You can choose GNOME during installation, so it’s a great fit for your needs.
