I'm looking for an office suite for Linux that's simple to use and doesn't come with a lot of the usual complications. I don't need anything too advanced and would love to find something lightweight. Are there any options aside from the well-known ones? I also don't need any collaboration features, just something that works smoothly without too much hassle.

LibreOffice is usually the go-to choice for me. It covers most needs, and while it might not be the lightest, it gets the job done without much fuss.

I totally agree! LibreOffice is the best option out there.

If you want something super light and don’t mind working online, you could go for the Google Suite. It's browser-based, so no installation is necessary and it’s easy to use for basic tasks.

I’ve had a good experience with OnlyOffice. It looks clean and handles MS Office files pretty well, so it might be worth checking out!

OnlyOffice works great on Linux Mint too!

You might want to check out SoftMaker. They have a free 2021 version available if you sign up, and it runs quite like MS Office, which could be a good fit.

For something simple, there's always AbiWord for word processing or Gnumeric for spreadsheets if you don’t need a full suite. But if you want all the features, LibreOffice is still your best bet.
