I've dabbled with Linux before but ran into some frustrating issues, especially while gaming. I tried Zorin OS and Pop!_OS, but it didn't go as smoothly as I hoped. I'm interested in returning to Linux and would love to get some recommendations on user-friendly distributions that are great for gaming. Any suggestions?

Mint is my go-to for gaming. I've heard Pop!_OS is solid too, but Mint has treated me well so far. If you're starting out, I’d definitely recommend it!
If you're looking for something beginner-friendly, just go with Mint. If you feel more adventurous later, Fedora or Debian are good next steps. I've had my share of problems with Ubuntu personally, so I'd steer clear of that!
I’m currently on OpenSuse Tumbleweed. It's been a bit of a journey figuring things out, but I finally got some Proton games working! Just make sure you're comfortable with troubleshooting some stuff along the way, especially with setting up dual boot with Windows.
Bazzite and Nobara are both excellent picks for gaming. Bazzite is like a better version of the SteamOS installer, and I've had great luck with my older computer running it. You should also check out Endeavor if you like it easy to set up for gaming!
Totally agree! I’ve been playing around with Nobara lately and it’s been pretty smooth.
Yep, I've used Bazzite for streaming games on the go, really handy!
I've been using Fedora (41/42) and it's been rock solid for gaming since I switched in January. It's smooth and responsive, definitely worth a shot!
Mint is definitely a fan favorite! It’s really user-friendly!
