I'm searching for secure alternatives to Google Drive and Dropbox for sharing sensitive documents with clients outside my organization. These platforms are currently blocked because they lack the necessary activity tracking. I'm hoping to find a secure 'data vault' or workspace for sharing sensitive files with clients, both existing and new. The features I'm looking for include: file or link expiration after a set period, automatic access purging, and detailed audit logs to track activity. We currently use OneDrive and SharePoint internally, but we want something more tailored for external sharing. Since we're already using AWS for our development, I'm also considering AWS-based solutions or building a branded solution using AWS services. Any recommendations for secure file-sharing platforms that meet these requirements?

You might be overlooking OneDrive and SharePoint—they can do a lot of what you need if set up properly. Sometimes we get caught up wanting a magic tool instead of using what's already at our disposal. I'm an E5 user, and it's all working for me.
Have you checked out Nextcloud? We've been using it, and it works like a charm for sharing sensitive files securely.
For sure! We've had great success with Nextcloud too.
SendSafely is another excellent option. It supports features like SAML SSO and SCIM provisioning, which may come in handy for your needs.
Definitely a solid pick! I've heard good things about SendSafely.
Given your reliance on AWS, consider building a solution using S3 with signed URLs. You can create time-limited access while getting detailed logs. If coding it seems too much, ShareFile or Kiteworks are good alternatives that provide the features you want out of the box.
True, but building your own means you'll be managing it. Is that worth it for your needs?

Sure, but SharePoint's file request feature needs organization-level sharing enabled, which compromises security for many.
