I'm looking for some advice on how to upgrade my PC that's about five years old. Here are my current specs: I have a Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, a GTX 1080 GPU, a Crucial P1 NVMe M.2 500GB SSD, 32GB of Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM, and a Gigabyte B450M motherboard. My budget is between $300-$350, but I'm open to cheaper options. I'm especially interested in making my setup better for video editing. I'm not looking to build a whole new PC right now because I have other expenses, so I'm considering smaller upgrades like a better CPU or GPU, and I might transfer some components to a new build when I can afford it.

If you're aiming for a GPU upgrade, I suggest looking into the RTX 3060 or 3080 if you can stretch your budget a bit. You could sell your GTX 1080 to help fund it. As for a CPU, something like a Ryzen 5 5600X would be a solid pick. Make sure your motherboard can handle it though!
Is the upgrade from a 5600X to a 5900X really justifiable? I’m planning a full system upgrade in about 5-6 months, so it’d be nice to know what to focus on now.
