I'm looking to upgrade my PC to handle more demanding games like Expedition 33, as I found out my current setup isn't quite enough according to Can You Run It. I'm not aiming for anything extreme like 4k gaming, but I want to achieve around 120fps on medium settings. Here's my current setup:
- CPU: Ryzen 5 3600
- GPU: ASUS 1650 SUPER
- Memory: 16GB DDR4
- Motherboard: MSI B450 A-PRO MAX
- PSU: CoolerMaster MWE GOLD 650W
Can anyone recommend good value upgrades?

What's your budget they're working with? It helps to know how much you're ready to spend to give you the best options.
I'd suggest upgrading your GPU first to an RX 9060XT, preferably with 16GB, but 8GB should be fine if the budget is tight. There are cheaper GPUs, but they really don't give you the same value for performance. If you're outside the US, prices might vary a bit.
Thanks for the tip! I found one for $729 NZD. Does that sound like a good price? Also, what's the Nvidia equivalent for this card?
You should definitely consider upgrading to a 5000 series CPU and a new GPU. Just keep in mind you might need to upgrade your PSU for that. But it's worth it for a solid performance boost!
I'm trying to limit changes, though. I checked PCPartPicker, and it seems an RX 9060XT upgrade won't throw any errors. Is that a solid choice?
Honestly, I think your 650W PSU should be enough for an upgrade like the 5600 or 5700X3D along with an RTX 3060 or 4060!
I'm thinking around $1000 NZD max. I'm based in New Zealand right now.
